Jennifer was born and raised in southern Ontario, Canada and grew up on a dairy farm. She is married and has two young children that also enjoy gardening on their one acre, edge of town property. Their Canadian Zone 4B property has a mix of shrubs, trees, vines, roses, perennials and annuals planted in full-sun, full-shade and bog areas. Ornamentation is a big factor on their property to help enhance the sweeping flowerbeds; including a bird bath, arbours, cedar rail fencing, cedar bench, still-water cement pond, willow-edged woodland area and willow sitting bench. All of their flowerbeds are raised, some with natural limestone rock blasted from the town's local river. Three garden tours have journeyed around their property leaving with various ideas to compliment their own gardens.
She was the Vice-President and Program Director of the local horticultural society and has participated in the beautification project that won her town the National Community In Blooms Contest for their population class.
Jennifer has a weekly gardening tv program on two cable stations and won the "Best Producer" award for it in 1998. Another television station will air a new gardening tv series in February 2000. She writes weekly gardening columns for two newspapers and does freelance work for other publications.
She gives talks and demonstrations to people showing how they too can enjoy gardening and answer any questions they may have. Various gardens around the area have evolved or improved with the help of Jennifer's expertise and designs.
